Kavisha Mazzella - `Songs for the Soul'

This year as part of the Kew Community Festival, Kew Neighborhood house is hosting an evening with ARIA award winning singer/ songwriter Kavisha Mazzella - ‘Songs for the Soul’ – will be held on Thursday the 10th of March at the Uniting Church Hall, Highbury Grove Kew, 7-9pm. Kavisha has a hauntingly beautiful voice, capable of both power and nuance. Kanisha sings both traditional Italian and contemporary original songs in English, which are inspired from her rich Celtic-Eurasian heritages. She infuses her performance with an authentic musical soul that crosses musical styles, cultures and barriers. Kavisha's music reflects a Southern Hemispheric experience of Australia and the world.

Kavisha has been playing to critical acclaim in music festivals, theatres, concerts halls, schools, elderly homes and lounge rooms in Ireland, Australia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, United States, Hungary, East Timor and Italy over the last fifteen years. Armed simply with her guitar and an accordion her songs -poetic, personal and political -are raw, sweet, humorous and earthy! A gypsy, folk, blues sound influences the intimate presentation with audience participation abounding, leaving them uplifted.

Kavisha runs vocal choral workshops and is a guest vocal tutor at Victorian College of the Arts. For more information please go to her website:www.kavisha.com
